Much of the production and ongoing operations at Fagerhult are managed in a larger office space directly adjacent to the Habo factory. When the office recently underwent an extensive renovation, the goal was to make it as sustainable and innovative as possible — a challenge that encouraged creativity, new ideas and revived opportunities.
The Fagerhult production office accommodates 44 office spaces, seven smaller office spaces, three meeting rooms, a shared lunchroom, and several social areas. The office has a new layout and a completely new look — with recycled furniture and lighting fixtures. Maja Salinder is the concept manager for Fagerhult’s premises and led the project throughout:
“We were tasked with renovating in a way that is as sustainable and resource efficient as possible, and we have been one hundred percent focused on recycling rather than buying new. We have stuck to that on every level.”
Reused luminaires
Glass wall sections, sound absorbers, doors, ceiling tiles, desk bases, conference tables, and all chairs could be renovated and reused. The lighting solutions also maintain a consistent, sustainable approach, mainly because the renovation coincided with the launch of the Control Track Versa track system and VIL uplight luminaires.
“The uplight of the track system, in combination with Notor 36 luminaires, means that we now have a flexible and very sustainable lighting solution. We can add and move spotlights and luminaires around based on how the office changes over time,” says Maja Salinder.
In the smaller office rooms, existing Itza luminaires were reused, and in other spaces, reused Multilume Slim luminaires were installed. All luminaires are controlled with Organic Response.
