One of Sweden's oldest arenas needed an update with both new grass and light. With the slogan "More than just football" Olympia Arena in Helsingborg also hosts concerts and other major events. Let the games begin.
Helsingborgs IF's home, the Olympia Arena, has been rebuilt to provide more seating, office, restaurant and better entrances.The fence around Olympia is demolished and instead a park is opened for the Helsinborg citizens.
The sports venue Olympia was inaugurated on July 31, 1898 and can thus count on one of Sweden's most important arenas. For over 100 years, the arena's lawn had been untouched, but to Helsingborg's IF's 100th anniversary in 2007, Olympia received a completely new lawn.
A number of different renovations and extensions have been made over the years, but for the first time a holistic approach has been taken and for 2 years the arena has been rebuilt. On April 1, 2017, the new Olympia was opened and HIF played the premiere match against Trelleborgs FF and HIF won the premiere match with 1-0.
"We were commissioned to make a total solution for the whole arena, both sport and retail sections at the premises. We saw this as a challenge and we are very pleased with the result." says Mattias Olofsson Lagerqvist, Regional sales manager.
